Hello everyone and welcome to the top Kmusic for the month of August. This month was the hottest, in terms of weather and in terms of music! This ranking was hard to make first because so many songs were released this month (I don't think I've ever done a ranking with more than 26 songs in it), and second because so many things happened in my life that I didn't really have the time to post it on time. But now here we are! And before we start, here's the usual disclaimer: All the pictures included in this article are screenshots taken by me from official music videos. If there is copyright infringement, I apologize in advance and will remove any problematic picture upon the owner's request. The link of the YouTube playlist can be found at the end of the article.

    #26 Weekly - Holiday Party (comeback) - August 4

    Weekly holiday party

I usually don't listen a lot to cute and fresh concepts, but there's something about this group. They are so good at making this kind of songs not cheesy. "After School" is still better in my humble opinion, but this song has more of a summer vibe. Watch the official MV for "Holiday Party" right here.

#25 Ten and YangYang (of WayV) - Low Low (single) - August 17 [ENGLISH]

WayV ten and yang yang low low

What an unexpected duo! This song is a very lighthearted song and I was very surprised (in a good way) when I heard that Ten and Yangyang would collaborate. YangYang is my WayV bias and he definitely doesn't get enough screentime in WayV's stuff to get noticed. So I hope that with this song, more people will notice him. Watch the official MV for "Low Low" right here.

#24 Kim Woojin (former Stray Kids) - Ready Now (solo debut) - August 4

    Kim Woojin ready now

This is very different from his pre-debut song, but I still like it very much. I have never doubted his vocal abilities, and now I discover that he can decently rap too (with a bit of practice I'm sure he'll get better). I also like the choreography for this song a lot. Watch the official MV for "ready now" right here.

#23 Doyoung and Haechan (of NCT U) - Maniac (single) - August 12

NCT U doyoung and haechan maniac

I really like the song, Doyoung and Haechan's voice go so well together. I also like the instrumentals, it's refreshing and it makes you want to dance. However, I still don't understand why they got this girl dancing during the whole video, if someone could explain it to me that'd be great. Watch the official MV for "Maniac" right here.

#22 박재범, JAY PARK and pH-1 - All In (single) - August 3

Jay park and Ph-1 all in

This song is the type of song I thought I wouldn't like but ended up loving. The build up until the chorus drops is FANTASTIC, and the rap is… breathtaking.  Watch the official MV for "All In" right here

#21 Ateez X Kim Jong Kook - Be my lover (single collaboration) - August 16

    Ateez and kim jong kook

This song is such a feel good song. First, Jongho finally had a chance to shine with his vocals that perfectly suit this song. Second, the choreography is so cool! It screams summer and fun. I think it'd make a good workout choreography lol! Plus, Kim Jong Kook's and ATEEZ's vocals go so well together. Watch the official MV for "Be my lover" right here.

#20 Ha Sung Woon (former Wanna One) - Strawberry Gum (comeback) - August 9

    HA sung woon strawberry gum

I loved sneakers and I also love strawberry gum. Fresh and bouncing concepts suits Ha Sung Woon so well! He has such a cute and fresh face and expressions. Added to my playlist! Watch the official MV for "Strawberry Gum" right here.

    #19 Somi (former I.O.I) - Dumb Dumb - August 2

    Somi dumb dumb

Aaand another catchy song to add to your playlist! The switch between the major chords during the verses and the switch to the minor chords when the chorus drops is just fantastic. Plus, the sentence she says right before the drop is the one that will stay stuck in your head: "난 네 머리 꼭대기에서 춤춰 you dumb dumb" (I'm dancing on top of your head, you dumb, dumb). Watch the official MV for "Dumb Dumb" right here.

#18 Golden Child - Fanfare (special video) - August 6

    Golden child fanfare

I just have one thing to say: SEXY. The dance is sexy, the song is sexy, the expressions are sexy, the beat is sexy, the vocals are sexy, this whole thing is sexy. Well done Golden Child. Watch the official MV for "Fanfare" right here.

#17 Everglow - Promise (for UNICEF promise campaign) - August 25

    everglow promise unicef campaign

I love songs that carry positive and hopeful messages, and this one is no exception. In these difficult times, we need such songs to boost us up, and Everglow did it really well. Watch the official MV for "Promise" right here.

    #16 CL (former 2NE1) - Spicy (pre-release) - August 24

    CL spicy

THE QUEEN IS BACK! What a song honestly… CL has so much attitude and charisma. The beat goes so hard and so does the choreography! The MV is also cool as hell (that talking statue at the beginning freaked me out but it was still cool). And you guys the pikachu car was so cute & badass at the same time (if I can have one like this I wouldn't complain). Watch the official MV for "Spicy" right here.

#15 Kwon Eun Bi (former IZ*ONE) - Door (solo debut) - August 24

    Kwon Eun Bi door

THE MUSICAL VIBES YES GIRL! To be honest, I never really got into IZ*ONE's members while still listening to their music. So I didn't really know who she was until someone told me she was an ex-IZ*ONE member and I went like "Damn…". We don't hear this kind of sound very often in the girl scene and I'm glad she went for it. Plus, it's a freaking solo debut! Job well done Kwon Eun Bi. Watch the official MV for "Door" right here.

    #14 Astro - After midnight (comeback) - August 2

    Astro after midnight

If you're still unfamiliar with ASTRO, check out their presentation right now by clicking here. A funky, colourful and upbeat song to light up the mood in this hot summer season. It's great to have a fresh comeback from them again, they're so good at it, plus they've become even more handsome. Can we talk about Sanha's glow up? Watch the official MV for "After Midnight" right here.

#13 Sunmi (former Wonder Girls) - You Can't Sit With Us (comeback) - August 6

Sunmi you can't sit with us

Another retro song and I'm not mad at it, especially because Sunmi pulls it off so well! Although the MV gets pretty creepy really fast (why the hell did zombies have to be in here), the song is annoyingly catchy and will never get out of your head :p Watch the official MV for "You can't sit with us" right here.

#12 Brave Girls - After We Ride (comeback) - August 23

    Brave girls after we ride

I never knew brave girls before their "rebirth". I just had heard their song "rolling" maybe once or twice. And then they were given a second chance (and I'm glad otherwise I would have never gotten into their music which would've been a shame). The song has such a nostalgic feeling. The way the song starts just makes you want to cry from the beginning. Watch the official MV for "After we ride" right here.

    #11 BtoB 4U - Outsider (unit comeback) - August 30

    BtoB outsider

Ah… Minhyuk… I'm sorry I'm usually not the type to stop at looks but I mean… Look at this man. And the HAIR! The hairdresser deserves a raise. Jokes aside, the message is pretty deep for such a nice upbeat song. There's no need to wanting to be like the others, being an "outsider" has its charm and it advantages. Watch the official MV for "Outsider" right here.

    #10 Lucy - Irrelevant Answer (comeback) - August 20

    Lucy irrelevant answer

ANIME OPENING MATERIAL INCOMING! You guys, if you don't know Lucy, go check them out right now! I know I say it every time I mention them in my rankings but the violin adds so much to their music! If you don't bop your head like crazy when hearing this song, it means your neck is made of metal. Watch the official MV for "Irrelevant Answer" right here.

    #9 ONF - Popping (comeback) - August 9

    ONF popping

I can't say that I'm a fan of the music video because I don't see how it is related to the song. The youtuber "Form of Therapy" said something funny a while ago: "Is ONF's fandom called FUSE because of the "fuse" In "confused"?" So yes, I was pretty confused by the MV. However, I'm a big fan of the song. The chant in the beginning is just so nice to start the song, and the pre-chorus is full of high notes and harmonies just as I like them! Watch the official MV for "Popping" right here.

    #8 CIX - Wave (comeback) - August 17

    CIX wave

If you're still unfamiliar with CIX, check out their presentation right now by clicking right here. If you follow me on instragram you know that I was really hyped for the release of their first studio album. But I was like "how the hell are they going to release something better than cinema" because that song is THE song for me. And then I remembered that it's not necessarily about doing better but about putting out something new. And even though Cinema remains my favourite CIX title track, Wave shines in its own way. I love how the song starts, it made me feel like I was underwater. And the MV was simply gorgeous (just take a look at that screenshot). Watch the official MV for "Wave" right here.

#7 Ten (of WayV) - Paint me naked (solo comeback) - August 10 [ENGLISH]

    Ten paint me naked

That's the kind of song I wanted to listen to during the whole summer, and Ten gifted it to us. I really love the way he says "Cause you really make my fancy work" with that rock/raspy tone (good job to the person who worked on arranging the song). I also love the attitude he shows in the MV. He looks so confident and I'm so proud of him. Watch the official MV for "Paint me naked" right here.

#6 Hyolyn and Dasom (former Sistar) - Summer or Summer (single) - August 10

Hyolyn and Dasom summer or summer

I never really got to know Sistar because I started to get into Kpop when they had already disbanded. However, I knew that they were called "queens of summer" and I have to agree at 1000%. The song and the MV SCREAM summer. Hyolyn and Dasom looked so cute together. They literally are accomplices and seem to genuinely having fun. I love the mix between vocals and rap, the high notes had such great impact as well as the rap portions. Watch the official MV for "Summer or Summer" right here.

    #5 Gaho - Ride (solo comeback) - August 12

    Gaho ride

Please, if you still don't know Gaho, GO CHECK HIM OUT! I'm sure you've heard his voice before because he sung so many drama OSTs. However, his songs are even better, you're missing out on a lot. He deserves so much more than what he's getting. This man has a voice that I could recognise a thousand miles away and that's what makes him so unique. I think it's his first time actually doing a more rock-ish song and it suits him really well (damn he looks good in these outfits). Watch the official MV for "Ride" right here.

#4 The Boyz - Thrill Ride (comeback) - August 9

    The Boyz Thrill Ride

God knows how much I missed the fresh and summery The Boyz from D.D.D. I was waiting for them to come back with a fresh concept again (not that I don't like the other concepts), and I was not disappointed at all. First, can we talk about Hyunjae? I think he's slowly becoming my bias (sorry Eric). And second, I'm so happy to see them having so much fun shooting a music video. Their facial expressions are on point and they don't seem like there were forced. They seemed naturally happy to be shooting this video that's why they succeed in conveying these positive vibes. Watch the official MV for "Thrill Ride" right here.

    Honorable mentions:

    • Golden Child - Ra pam pam (comeback) - August 2 - Official MV
    • Oneus - Shut Up 받고 Crazy Hot! (special release) - August 5 - Official MV
    • Hyo ft. BIBI - Second (comeback) - August 9 - Official MV
    • Pentagon (Yuto, Kino, Wooseok) - Cerberus (unit release) - August 18 - Official MV
    • Verivery - Trigger (comeback) - August 23 - Official MV
    • Youha - Ice T (comeback) - August 24 - Official MV

#3 Key (of Shinee) ft. Taeyeon (of Girls' Generation) - Hate that (pre-release) - August 30

    Key ft. Taeyeon hate that

I missed him SO much. Of all Shinee members, Key has the most pop style in terms of solo career. I'm so excited for his album to be released, but for now we have this song to listen to while waiting, and what a song! Key's voice and Taeyeon's voice go so well together. And the structure of the song is not like any other Kpop song. There is no build up to the chorus, no chorus drop, no high notes going in all directions, no rap verses. The structure of this song is the typical structure of an american pop song, and it doesn't hurt to sometimes have a simply structured song to listen to. Watch the official MV for "Hate that" right here.

    #2 Stray Kids - Thunderous (comeback) - August 23

    Stray Kids thunderous

If you're still unfamiliar with Stray Kids, check out their presentation right now by clicking right here. I think we all agree on one thing: this music video is a strong candidate for the MV of the year. Whoever worked on the animation is a genius. Mixing traditional and modern elements into a song has been a thing since they released God's menu. Back Door also had these two elements mixed together with the modern electronic sounds being more prominent. This time, you can distinctively hear the traditional korean instruments in the background, especially during the pre-chorus. Watch the official MV For "Thunderous" right here.

    #1 TXT - Lo$er = LoVer (comeback) - August 17

    TXT Loser=Lover

If you're still unfamiliar with TXT, check out their presentation right now by clicking right here. I think this song is the one I listened to the most this month. I knew I was going to like this song when the first teaser came out. That rock almost (but not too much) emo style really fits them. I didn't know they were so good at acting, especially Taehyun and Beomgyu. As soon as I can I am getting my hands on this album. This song is definitely my favourite of this month. Watch the official MV for "Lo$er=LoVer" right here.

That's it! These were my favourite kmusic releases of the month of August 2021! Feel free to comment down below your own favourites, and which release are you looking forward to in the next months. Don't forget that the end of the year is coming and that I'll be starting to work on the "Swans awards" first edition really soon (let's pretend last year's edition didn't happen ok?).

Hello everyone, and welcome to the 10th top Kmusic of this blog! I can't believe I've been doing this for almost a year, and the reason why time passed by so fast is because I love doing it. Don't get me wrong, I don't like this whole ranking concept. However, it is the best opportunity I found to share with you songs and artists that I really enjoy listening to. There has been so many new groups and songs coming out in the industry for the past few years and we simply cannot keep up with all of them.

July is a special month because it is the month I was born in. I am not a cancer, but a Leo, so this should give you an idea of the exact day :) It is also the month in which we had quite a few good surprises in terms of comebacks. Although this ranking is shorter than previous ones, the top 3 is made of pure gems.

The usual disclaimer before we start: All the pictures included in this article are screenshots taken by me from official music videos if there is copyright infringement, I apologize in advance and will remove any problematic picture upon the owner's request.

You'll also find the link to the YouTube playlist with all the songs in it by order at the end of the article as usual.

#13 Jeon Soyeon - Beam Beam (solo debut) - July 5

Jeon Soyeon from Gidle solo debut beam beam

I think Seoyeon is one of the most confident Idol I've ever seen in my life. She has that badass attitude, a tiny bit arrogant but not too much. This is what makes her a strong artist. I maybe was expecting the song to be more complex than that, but it's still a good song. Watch the official MV for "Beam Beam" right here.

#12 Jackson Wang, Internet Money - Drive you home (solo comeback) - July 29

Jackson Wang solo comeback drive you home

Oh Jackson… why did you have to make another sad song? :( Okay this song is so sad, and this is why I cannot listen to it all the time otherwise I'd always be sad because I'm a very moody person. However, if you're sad, listen to that song and let all your tears leave your body. Watch the official MV for "Drive you home" right here.

    #11 SF9 - Tear Drop (comeback) - July 5

    SF9 comeback Tear Drop

This song is the perfect mix between their previous songs "Now or Never" and "Good Guy". I believe that was intentional, and I'm not mad at it. And what's best about it is the chorus. That "woohoho" thing done in a very sensual way… that's very SF9. Watch the official MV for "Tear Drop" right here.

#10 Day6 (even of day) - Right through me (unit comeback) - July 5

Day6 even of day unit right through me comeback

This song is very interesting musically-wise. It is not a song I would've expected Day6 to make but I really liked it. The melody in the chorus is very catchy and what makes the strength of this song. Watch the official MV for "Right through me" right here.

#9 Rain, Monsta X, Ateez, Brave girls - Summer taste (Pepsi ad) - July 14

Monsta X, Ateez, Brave Girls and Rain, Pepsi ad summer taste special release

So, putting aside that this song is a whole ad for Pepsi, the song and the MV are fire. I'm sure you'd bounce to that beat if you listened to that song. It's also a great song to put at a party. Watch the official MV for "Summer Taste" right here

#8 DPR Live - Yellow Cab (comeback) - July 2

    DPR live yellow cab comeback

I absolutely love atypical songs, and "Yellow cab" is one of them. This song is a feel good song. You know, the type of song you'd want to listen at full volume in your car? Yes, that type of song. Watch the official MV for "Yellow Cab" right here.

    #7 Kim Woojin - Sill Dream (pre-debut release) - July 8

Kim woojin still dream pre-debut release

I never took sides whenever it came to Kpop industry dramas because I believe I am in no place to judge these people. Woojin was no exception. I never resented him, because I was in no place to do so. Now it just seems to me that he's happier as a solo artist, and I will support him because I really like the artist he is and the artist he aspires to be. I believe this song and MV can be described in only one word: Renaissance. I am looking forward to Woojin's solo debut with anticipation although I'm aware that's not the case for everyone. I would just like to ask you and all the community not to spread hate if you hold a grunge against him to prevent any further harm to this artist who deserve a second chance. Watch the official MV for "Still Dream" right here.

    #6 Akmu (with I.U) - Nakka (comeback) - July 26

    Akmu Nakka ft IU

"When you have everything, you will never know what it is that the person next to you loves about you". That's what "Nakka" is about. I loved the lyrics of this song, more than the song itself, although it is still a pretty good song. Watch the official MV For "Nakka" right here.

#5 BTS - Permission to dance (special release) - July 9

BTS permission to dance song comeback with ed Sheehan

Just like Butter and Dynamite, Permission to dance is an upbeat song destined to bring joy into our lives. Just like with Butter and Dynamite, a pretty nice dance challenge came out of the choreography. And just like Butter and Dynamite, the song is catchy. It's a good song, with positive lyrics. Watch the official MV for "Permission to dance" right here.

    #4 Seventeen - Anyone (b-side release) - July 23

Seventeen your choice album anyone B-side

"Anyone" is my favourite b-side of Seventeen's latest album "Your Choice". I love the bikers/racers concept they went for in the music video. I also love the way the MV was shoot. And the song itself is really good, I love the way they sing "Anyone" in the pre-chorus. Watch the official MV for "Anyone" right here.

Before we move on to the top three, here are some songs that are worth mentioning:

    • AleXa (with BM of KARD) - Xtra (comeback) - July 1 - Official MV
    • Dongkiz - Crazy Night (comeback) - July 1 - Official MV
    • Taeyeon - Weekend (comeback) - July 6 - Official MV
    • Boyhood ft. Kisum - Rain (comeback) - July 11 - Official MV
    • Akmu (with Crush) - Stupid love song (comeback) - July 27 - Official MV
    • Akmu (with Zion.T) - Bench (comeback) - August 1 - Official MV

    #3 Kingdom - Karma (comeback) - July 7

    Top Kmusic #10: July 2021

They really went for the historical and mystical concept huh? I have to say that this is the most original concept I've ever seen in my four years of Kpop. I like this song a lot more than their debut, although Excalibur was relatively impressive (you can read the full commentary I made right here). I absolutely love the MV, it is GORGEOUS. The lighting, the costumes, the choreography, the sets, everything is gathered to create this mystical, almost magical atmosphere. And the lyrics follow too. I think I'll keep an eye on them from now on. Watch the official MV for "Karma" right here.

#2 Akmu (with Lee Sun Hee) - 전쟁터 (Hey kid, Close your eyes) - July 21

Akmu with lee sun hee comeback battlefield (hey kid close your eyes)

"Is blood and bullets all it takes for a war? The sad reality is that our childhood is built above piles of bones with nothing but the remains of war, and all we're taught is how to conquer with guns and blades in our hands. Just like how the most important things in life are realized after it's lost, just like how we're marching forward without knowing the screams hidden behind the ringing sounds... What is chasing you to rush forward? Where is it that you're heading? Oh, many of us are aware of what actually matters, but this war-like life continues with no end." That is what was written on Akmu's official YouTube channel under the official MV for "전쟁터 (Hey kid, Close your eyes)". I'll let each and every one of you make their own opinion by listening to that song, because I have no words to describe how I felt listening to it. Watch the official MV for "전쟁터 (Hey kid, Close your eyes)" right here.

    #1 D.O (from EXO) - Rose (solo debut) - July 26

D.O from exo solo debut rose

D.O is another member of EXO who have made his solo debut. I won't even mention how much I missed him because I would spend years expressing my love for this man. But his voice is just so angelic that I could listen to this song a thousand times without skipping it even once. It's also such a good song to listen to, and is also available all in english. Watch the official MV for "Rose" right here.

  • ~ June 2021 ~

Hello everyone and welcome to the monthly Kmusic ranking, where I rank all my favourite releases of the month. It took me so long to do this one because we got a lot of new songs during the month of June, more specifically a lot of SUMMER songs. So it was a bit hard for me to put them in a certain order.

Before we start, the usual disclaimer: All the pictures included in this article are screenshots taken by me from official music videos if there is copyright infringement, I apologize in advance and will remove any problematic picture upon the owner's request.

Without any further due, let's start!

    #21 Ghost9 - Up all night - June 3

    Top Kmusic #9: June 2021

This song is definitely a summer song, very upbeat and joyful. The MV is really bright and colorful. This is very different from their previous release that was more powerful and electronic-sound heavy.  Watch the official MV for "Up all night" right here.

    #20 EXO - Don't fight the feeling - June 7

    Top Kmusic #9: June 2021

If we put aside the very bad CGI with Lay that looks completely added-in into the MV, the song is pretty nice. They wanted to do something for their anniversary without putting too much money into it (although SM has the money but the boys wouldn't promote due to Baekhyun and Chanyeol enlisting so there wouldn't be a return on investment). It still feels like something's missing because they're not complete, and I cannot wait for this day to come when we'll have a comeback with ALL THE MEMBERS BEING ON SET (and not CG-ied). Watch the official MV for "Don't fight the feeling" right here.

#19 Kun & Xiaojun (from WayV) - Back to you - June 16 [CHINESE]

Kun X Xiaojun of WayV back to you

I love a good song with smooth and clear vocals. It's a very simplistic song (and MV), but when it comes to a vocal-centric song I like to have it associated with simple aesthetics. Also, I didn't know Xiaojun had such beautiful vocals. Watch the official MV for "Back to you" right here.

    #18 EPEX - Lock Down - June 8

    EPEX lockdown

To be honest, I really didn't like that song at first. The shouting chorus is something I really have trouble liking in the industry, and it seems like it's becoming a thing. But this song turned out to be a grower, especially after I checked out the lyrics. This song is pretty deep when you pay attention to what they're talking about, and I love it. And yes, the chorus ended up being stuck in my head. I really look forward to witness this group growing up, because for now they are still really young (and cute). They are really promising. Watch the official MV for "Lock Down" right here.

    #17 WEi - Bye Bye Bye - June 9

    Top Kmusic #9: June 2021

That CHORUS! That's what I call a catchy chorus. The melody gets stuck in your head so easily so that you find yourself singing "Bye bye bye" all day long. I like the MV, it's a very chill and groovy song. However, aside from the chorus, the song hasn't that special thing, which is why I couldn't rank this song higher.  Watch the official MV for "Bye Bye Bye" right here.

    #16 Seventeen - Ready to love - June 18

    Top Kmusic #9: June 2021

This song reminds me a bit of the "don't wanna cry" era. It's been a while since we've had this type of music from seventeen: a good mix between light-summery vibes and dance track. The distribution is maybe one of the fairest I've seen in their entire discography. I just wished the vocal line had more time to shine with their amazing vocals. Watch the official MV for "Ready to love" right here.

    #15 JustB - Damage - June 30

    Top Kmusic #9: June 2021

Nostalgia has hit me once again. Although this group is unique in its own way, I cannot help but think that this could've been a B.A.P song. I'm happy that they got to work with Yongguk who's an amazing artist and producer. I am also very happy for the ex I-Land members (especially Geonu) who got a second chance. This song hits hard, and the storyline seems to be very dark and deep (not that I understood every part of it). I absolutely love the choreography of this song, the move where their tights align perfectly is going to be iconic.  Watch the official MV for "Damage" right here.

After all the problems The Rose experienced with their agency, and with two members now being in the military, Woosung is going forward in his solo career and he released his 2nd solo song called "Lazy" (featuring his adorable dog, I don't know what breed that is but he's too cute, just like his master). #13 BamBam - Ribbon - June 15

I didn't know what to expect from BamBam honestly, and I think this style suits him. It reminds me a bit of Zico's style, and it really fits bambam's image. The MV is really beautiful to watch, it's very colorful and joyful. The choreography is also very interesting (very bouncy in my personal humble opinion). I maybe was expecting a little bit more vocally-wise, but for a solo debut that's already pretty good. Watch the official MV for "Ribbon" right here.

I really like the song, and the choreography even more. However I wished it was a bit longer and a bit more creative. From the second chorus onwards the song is very repetitive, and it's not even 3 minutes long. But I have to praise their english pronunciation. Watch the official MV for "Magic" right here.

I just find the concept genius. Who would've thought to make a song about shoes? Ha sung woon. The song is fresh, the colors in the MV are fresh, and the choreograpohy is pure fun (although you'd need a lot of energy, damn he jumps a lot). Watch the official MV for "Sneakers" right here.

    #10 Monsta X - Gambler - June 1

This is the first Monsta X release I've really liked in a while. I think the last release I really appreciated from them was Shoot Out. After that it felt like they were going for something new, and I'm not saying it was bad but it was not really my cup of tea. Now gambler is a total bop, and oh my god that guitar during the pre-chorus. And Jooheon's high notes? Excuse me sir? Watch the official MV for "Gambler" right here.

    #9 A.C.E - Higher - June 22

I think that when it comes to having stunning and majestic music videos, A.C.E are one of the best in this category. Altough this song is relatively softer than what they usually do, it's still powerful through their "elegant" moves in the choreo and the absolutely gorgeous props and outfits they use. Also, that guy with the long blonde and blue hair, I need to know his name. Watch the official MV for "Higher" right here.

Lucy is a kband that debuted not long ago, but whom I am already a fan of. I hope that with time they will get more recognition, because they really have everything: Their MVs are of surprisingly good quality, the main vocal has such a unique voice, and the violin isn't an instrument frequently played within other groups.  Watch the official MV for "I got u" right here.

The aura of this song felt very different from the start as soon as I heard that guitar at the beginning. And then the very recognizable vocals of  Yonghoon and Dongmyeong kicked in, which gave me chills. The catchiest part is the "Nanana" which I believe is called the hook if we're speaking about the structure of the song, and then you have that guitar going a "bit" crazy right before the last chorus. I just wondered how the hell they filmed the MV while being completely soaked in water. I hope no one got sick or none of the instrument broke (instruments are precious people). I found this song silly at first. It reminded me a bit of "Chewing Gum". However, the more I listened to it the more it grew on me, to become one of my most listened-to song of the month. The choreography of the chorus is memorable, the chorus is catchy, the melody is fun, and the MV is fun too! The perfect summer song to listen and sing-along to in your car (even though no one will understand a single word you'll say unless you perfectly know Korean). I still don't know how to feel about Wheein leaving RBW but "still promoting with Mamamoo". I just hope she continues her career. And I hope mamamoo doesn't disband, because these girls are so powerful together. This song moved me to the core, and really gave me chills. Watch the official MV for "Where are we now" right here.

I think this song is my favorite mixtape song from them. First of all, I'm really happy that Hyunjin's back. Second of all, let's praise our maknae for improving so much during the last couple of months (feels like I'm a proud mom, his vocals were amazing there). I also want to praise lee know and seungmin for having such clear and full-of-emotion vocals. Watch the official MV for "Mixtape: OH" right here.

Before we move on to the top three, here are some honourable mentions:

The GROOVE of that song is incredible! I absolutely love how the instrumentals stop during the last chorus, when they sing the first line and there's only the vocals piercing through your ears. Fantastic. I also didn't know they had such great vocals, they definitely caught my attention, especially the guy who sings the first part of the pre-chorus. When listening to this song I thought something: Music is for B.I what a canvas is for a painter. It's a mean to help him expressing himself, it's also a mean to let his creativity be and to let the artist who's inside of him be. I'm glad he got up again and didn't give up, because we know that what he went through was hard. This man is made to compose music and to write lyrics. I previously made an article about N.Flying that you can check out right here in which I said that Moonshot was the song that got me into them. This song is amazing in every point of view: The message it holds, the MV, the instruments, and the VOCALS. I'm a sucker for powerful vocals if you didn't know it, so this song is right up my alley. I loved it as soon as I heard it, and now it's always on repeat. Watch to official MV for "Moonshot" right here.
